UK Athletics have confirmed there will be a prize fund of more than £9,500 at this winter’s UK Cross Challenge meetings at Birmingham on 28 October, Liverpool on 25 November, Belfast on 6 January, Cardiff on 21 January and Nottingham on 24 February.

The governing body, which continues to finance the highly successful series in the absence of a title-sponsor, will reward the first four seniors and the leading three Under 20s, Under 17s, Under 15s and Under 13s in each race at every meeting in the series.

There will be a slight increase in rewards at the final, which is again a part of the UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships in Nottingham’s Wollaton Park. Despite the senior races not being trials for this winter’s World Cross Country Championships in Kenya, there will be £500 for the winners, £250 for the runners-up, £200 for third and £100 for fourth. In the Under 20 races, there will be £200 for the winners, £100 for second and £75 for third. In the Under 17s, Under 15s and Under 13s, UK Cross Challenge trophies will be presented along with sports vouchers of £50 to winners, £30 to runners-up and £25 to third placers.

At each of the first four meetings, Senior winners will receive £150, runners-up £100, third placers £50 and fourth placers £25 sports vouchers. For the first three Under 20s, rewards will be £100, £50 and £30. For the first three Under 17s, Under 15s and Under 13s, rewards will be sports vouchers to the value of £30, £25 and £20.

To enter any of the races at any of the UK Cross Challenge meetings, please use our online entry form or print off entry forms for any individual meeting by going to the UK Cross Challenge fixture list.

Entry fees per race: IAAF Seniors and Under 20s £6, unaffiliated £7; younger age groups £4.

But hurry if you want to join the Birmingham fields! No entries will be taken after Saturday 21 October.
