The BMC Nike Grand Prix final on 12 August in Manchester, will incorporate a UKA Endurance Initiative 10,000m race for Men, in response to requests from UK athletes.

The race will be open to any male athlete who has run sub 32 minutes for 10,000m (including road times).  UK Athletics require a minimum of 15 athletes to have registered online on the BMC website www.britishmilersclub.com by the 30 July, to ensure the race can go ahead.

Senior Co-ordinator for Endurance Spencer Barden said: “The athletes have requested another domestic 10,000m on the track this season, we have listened and worked with the BMC to incorporate a race in the final on the 12 August, so I hope there will be a good number of entries.”

The Women’s UKA Endurance Initiative 10,000m is scheduled to take place at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham on Saturday 5 August, during the weekend of the AAA U17 and U15 Championships.

Any female athletes who still wish to enter the 10,000m, should contact Spencer Barden, as soon as possible on 07917 424 567 or e-mail sbarden@ukathletics.org.uk by Friday 30 July, at the latest.
