Rob Tobin led a parade of British winners at the Aarhus Games in Denmark on Thursday night.

The current UK number two clocked 46.01seconds in the 400metres to finish 0.22secs ahead of his closest rival, Eric Milazar of Mauritius.

Welshman Jimmy Watkins won the 800m in 1:48.30, three-quarters of a second ahead of last year's winner, Englishman Tim Bayley. In the javelin, Northern Ireland's Michael Allen threw 78.05m to finish well clear of Trevor Snyder from Canada, who took second place with 76m.

Liz Fairs won the 400m hurdles in 57.98secs from Denmark's Sara Petersen, who clocked 58.24.

Other UK athletes tested their form ahead of the Norwich Union European Trials and AAA Championships in Manchester later this month.

Goldie Sayers threw 60.41m for third position behind Denmark's Christina Scherwin, whose first-round throw of 64.06m proved enough for victory.

Jermaine Mays moved up to second in the UK 3,000m steeplechase rankings for the season by clocking 8:31.04.

Colin McCourt finished second in the 1,500m in 3:40.42, 0.23secs behind New Zealander Paul Hamblyn.
