Cross Challenge

UK Athletics are teaming up with the British Milers’ Club to stage a National Endurance Coaching Development Day enabling delegates to learn from some of the most experienced coaches working in this country.

It is to be staged at Stratford Upon Avon High School on Sunday 25 February (9.30am to 5pm) – the day after the UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships and UK Cross Challenge Finals across the Midlands at Nottingham – and will be suitable for Level 2 coaches upwards though the senior lectures will be aimed at Level 3 and 4 coaches.

The lecturers for the different event groups are George Gandy (800m and 1500m), Lindsay Dunn (5000m and 10,000m), Bud Baldaro and Paul Evans (marathon), Dave Sunderland and Spencer Duval (steeplechase) and David Lowes (young athletes). They will deal with their topics in such depth that delegates are advised to select a single event group for the day, which will be led by BMC President Norman Poole.

The cost - £20 for BMC members, £30 for non-BMC members – includes refreshments and lunch. Overnight accommodation details are also available on request.

Please send all applications, with cheques to favour of BMC and explaining which event group you wish to attend, to the BMC Administrator, 47 Station Road, Cowley, Uxbridge, Middlesex UB8 3AB by Friday 16 February. Any queries can be emailed to patfitzgerald@britishmilersclub.com
