The International Association of Athletics Federations struck a deal on Friday for Dwain Chambers to return to action following his two-year drugs ban.

World athletics' governing body revealed that they have accepted an offer from the European 100metres champion to reimburse them with the appearance fees and purse money he won during the period he was using drugs.

Subject to clearance from UK Athletics, Chambers will now be eligible to compete at the Norwich Union British Grand Prix in Gateshead on Sunday.

His return would see him face world record-holder Asafa Powell and former world champion Kim Collins at the IAAF Super Grand Prix meeting.
