Jade Johnson is under no illusions of how hard it will be to come back from a kidney problem and gain the long jump qualifying standard for next month's European Championships.

Johnson, who claimed silver on her Euro debut four years ago, knows she faces a daunting challenge at the Norwich Union London Grand Prix on Friday in her last opportunity to impress the selectors by hitting UK Athletics elite standard in her home training base at Crystal Palace - and the 26-year-old Londoner is determined to give it her best shot.

"Unless something disastrous happens, I'll be there," said Johnson who underwent a test on her kidneys last week and is still awaiting the results. "I'll be 100% thinking about getting the qualifier and even if I come last but do it, I'll be happy. I have one goal in my mind and that is jumping 6.65m. It's my last chance and I hope it will be my day."
