Alan Richardson has been appointed as Event Group Lead for Jumps and Combined Events after fulfilling the position in an interim capacity in recent weeks.

As part of his duties, Richardson - formerly England Athletics’ National Coach Mentor and UKA’s National Event Coach for pole vault - will also continue to work alongside Development Manager Jo Jennings to support coaches of athletes on British Athletics' Futures Programme as well as working with targeted coaches. The 32 year old currently coaches a group including Scottish record holder Gregor MacLean and national under-20 champion Dan Gardner.

Head of Coaching and Development Peter Stanley said, “Alan is the natural choice to transfer into this role. His experience working for both British Athletics and England Athletics provides a strong insight into the alignment of the two NGBs as well as his previous work with the other Home Countries.

“He will continue to play a leading role in the development of Junior Athletes and their Coaches alongside Tony Hadley, Martin Rush and Malcolm Fenton as we develop a pathway for success at Senior International level."
